Thanks again, actually you just answered my most important questions! I didn't want to seem like a pansy but also didn't want to be an ignorant fool going over there not knowing about things such as deadly critters. I figure enough people happily live there that there must be a way that they all cohabitat without too many problems? Thanks again for all the information, it's so nice of you and I very much appreciate it all. Take care and God Bless!

A last word. Aust has a lot of dangerous animals, insects, reptiles etc. Qld beaches are prone to different types of Jellys, and there's Crocs. Don't be concern. Visit beaches that are patrolled by Life Savers which regularly sweep the beaches. Very Important for medical, consider right season to visit Nth Aust/Qld. It can be very hot and muggy in summer and this is when you are likely to get Jellies etc (and the monsoon - Big Wet).

leoalexscot - Thank you very much for the info, it's exactly what I was looking for and gives me a great start. I do want to see the Harbour of course and also the outback but I'm a beach lover and would want to find a good beach town to base myself in, somewhere I;d be able to get in the water safe as possible from the sharks and jellys. My big fear over there is the snakes and spiders as I've just finished 3 years of chemo and would hate to die of a bite! lol!! Anyway thank you so much Sir!

Hi Azbquinton. Australia is much like America, that's being the size and scope of geography. It all depends on the experience you are looking for. As for friendly, Airlie is a good destination along the Queensland coast. My experience... Melbourne far friendlier place than Sydney - but you want to see the iconic Harbour right? Recommend for Qld - Gold Coast, Noosa, Cairns, Hamilton Island. Also consider Winton/Longreach for outback experience. Mackay has its moments and places. Bus the coastup

Airlie looks incredible! Could you tell me is Australia a place that's generally friendly to Americans? I've just survived a cancer diagnosis that was supposed to kill me and in the process I lost everything but my soul and that's all I need. I want to adventure for awhile or maybe forever and Australia has long been a place I wanted to see before I die and I'm taking nothing for granted anymore! I'm just now starting to do some research and would love some insight from someone like you? Thanks

Golden beaches of golden sand, silky sunsets that glow on your hands, as dawn awakens on this marvelous land, lay back and enjoy as mush as you can - come to Queensland as soon as you can.
