bruges, a city in brussels. hah!At least she corrected herself at the end. And yes, in the dead of winter it's dark here (in belgium) at 4.30. but luckily, in the middle of summer it stays light until 11 pm.

I assume the German remark is a reference to WW2 and an implication that without America all the European countries would have been speaking German? If you see his Hitler's various invasion plans the Nazis weren't actually planning on forcing people to speak German. It might be pedantic, but if you're going to use a historical jibe, you need to get it right. But hey, without the French, all you Americans would be speaking English! Oh, hang on...I like the word blatherskites though.
