Hundreds of thousands of puppies are breed at Puppy Mills, and then sold to Pet Stores. These dogs only job is to breed and have puppies, so the owner can make as much of a profit as possible. If the dogs can no longer breed, then they are very often killed with a metal object beaten against their head. No health care, never enough food, and no medical care, these dogs live in a wire crate their whole life with no socialization, and never able to enjoy the grass and walking. This is no way to live. To stop Puppies Mills, don't buy puppies at Pet Stores.

god thats disgusting! So sad. But I could be guilty of it too, I have a dog from a pet store. =(People can do cruel things for selfish reasons. Thanks for this video!

I can't believe you people in the US are selling puppies in pet stores like they were hamsters or something. Here in "less developed countries" (Europe) we use to buy them directly from the breeding stations after checking up on them/visiting them while they are growing up. We usually keep the sale quite personal also because the breeders want to make sure their puppy ends up in good hands. This seems like a much better way to do it compared to your american "puppy wholesale".

If I was a millionaire, I would set up the biggest pet shelter, and I would buy myself a machine gun, a plane, go around the world, kill all pet mill owners, and bring all the animals there to my shelter..I would pay a vet any amount he wants to take care of the animals..I would get anything to make the animals feel like kings and queens..We humans, are the biggest beasts.

I would only buy from a shelter also.

i could argue upon this video because if all that IS true then why is all the dogs in pet stores are clean, healthy and happy if they were born in a puppy mill? this video was probably made by someone who doesn't quite have all the facts. most pet stores hire breeders (people who raise dogs in their house) (who care for them) and IF pet stores DID get their dogs from puppy mills this video probably just showed you the very worst shape any of the dogs there are in. this video shows worst-case

I would only buy from animal shelters

Thank you, I'm glad you see where I am coming from. There are a lot of responsible breeders and pet store owners. So I give you extra kudos to you and the pet store for doing homework :).

I totally agree. And not all pet stores buy from puppy mills. My local pet store only buys from local SPCA approved breeders. I don't really agree with how this person tried to blame the people who buy dogs at a pet store. It's not their fault, a pet store should be a safe place where you can get good pets. I think it needs to be stopped at a governmental level with the puppy mills themselves, not the individuals who go to a pet store to get a loving pet. They still need a loving home.

You can't say that it isn't true. Fact is there are a lot of people who raise their animals with the proper care, but they are just afraid to sell there dogs to the public because people will give them a hassle. All I am saying is the definition is completely bias because it gives two definitions. One definition is based on mistreating your animal, the other is based on selling to a pet store. So even if you treat you dogs fine and sell to a pet store you're a puppy mill.

Well when you buy a puppy from a puppymill you are kind rescuing it but that just makes another space for a nother poor puppy in the stores. It also makes demand for these puppys go up so they make more puppys.
