Why does someone or something have to make us for us to be here?You never know maybe something did cause the big bang to happen?There being a creator?? still isn't evidence of a God because Religious people are going to have to prove the creator is a God and not something else. I'll have to disagree, respectfully.The 6000 year old earth isn't a minor detail. It is on par with every other detail, that "morality is of gods word," and "the world was ID'ed" and all that rubbish.The reason I say this is that most theists (that I've known) don't put any more thought into one over the other. All are simply plug-n-play ideas that their religious leaders downloaded into them, and which are never (and may never be) questioned because they are concerning god.

My point been that, as natural selection does not only compete with the explanation of design but also morality, thus becoming the antithesis of God, ergo it has to be immoral in their worldview. That's why there is such huge opposition among religious people towards natural selection as I see it.That's why I think the 6000 years earth is just a minor detail in overall scheme of things.
