Tashi Lhazom (ethnic Tibetan) - Missing
English lyrics translated from Tibetan:Kindly parents are like the sun on the sky, which lights the earth and warms the world.Under it children grow up in happiness.Kindly parents are like the full moon on mid-month,(Explanation: The moon is full on mid-month in the Chinese lunar calendar)which sheds light on the earth and dispels the darkness.Under it children become smart and healthy.----------Tashi Lhazom (Chinese: 扎西拉宗, Pinyin: Zhaxi Lazong) is an ethnic Tibetan Chinese. In her performance, she used a typical Tibetan singing technique: Zhengu (or "振谷", literally "turning point of voice" in Tibetan). She was still an undergraduate of the Tibet University when she attended the 12th National Singing Contest in 2006. Her voice is crystal clear, just like the cerulean sky above the snowy land of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. She was the only one Tibetan singer that entered the fourth round of the final stage competition of the National Singing Contest. Unfortunately she did not win any medal, although she was so close to the medal. This video clip is her performance in the third round. To win a medal at the National Singing Contest, the following criteria should be met. 1. The singing technique should be excellent. 2. The singing performance should be affecting. That is, if the singer sings a love (or sorrowful) song, the audience should feel that their hearts are full of love (or sorrow). 3. The singer should be the best singer (or at least one of the best singers) among all those who can use the same singing technique in the world. 4. Since this National Singing Contest is not for a single ethnic group, but for all Chinese ethnic groups, so the singer should show the most beautiful part of her ethnic culture during her performance. And the audience should be shocked by the beauty of her ethnic culture. I think all finalists met the first criterion. Those who were competed out in the first round apparently did not meet the second criterion. Those who were competed out in the second round seemed not to meet the third criterion. The last criterion is the most difficult for singers. Those who were competed out in the third round seemed not to meet the forth criterion. 9 singers (bands) entered the forth round and only 6 of them got medals. I believe that it was very difficult for referees to determine who should be competed out in the fourth round. Tashi Lhazom has met four criteria listed above. I think that she is one of the best Tibetan singers in the world. Only a few singers can sing Tibetan songs as well as she can. ----------Ethnic Tibetan's Emblem: http://www.worldartmuseum.cn/c... emblem was designed by an ethnic Tibetan designer. The Potala Palace is a typical symbol of building for Tibetans. Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo ordered to build this palace to greet his bride Princess Wen Cheng of the Tang Dynasty of China. The palace has two parts: White Palace and Red Palace. The palace was built on the side of Marpo Ri ('Red Mountain') in the center of Lhasa Valley. Thirteen stories of buildings -- containing over 1,000 rooms, 10,000 shrines and about 200,000 statues -- soar 117 metres (384 ft) on top of Marpo Ri, rising more than 300 m (about 1,000 ft) in total above the valley floor. Potala Palace is famous for its grand buildings, complicated constructions, devotional atmosphere and splendid artworks. Surrounding the Potala Palace is a Khata (哈达 Hada), which is a traditional ceremonial scarf used in Tibet. It symbolizes goodwill, auspiciousness and compassion. It is usually made of silk. Tibetan khatas are usually white symbolising the pure heart of the giver. ----------扎西拉宗 -- 思念扎西拉宗 -- 思念十二届CCTV青年歌 电视大奖赛十二屆CCTV青年歌手電視大獎賽About Songtsen Gampo: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S...
