Well they don't want you to Rip the blu-rays! But you can just like you can rip dvd's. And as said since CSS was so weak..even the law doesn't cares anymore.Blu-ray though it is pretty new...

Depending on how the laws in your country are. There are tools that will aid you in it. Of course you can find such on the usual areas. Remember that in europe by Precedent(it isn't yet law everywhere in europe) any INSUFFICIENT encryption/security that is hacked is legal to break. After all if it is easy to break..then it is broken!Interresting isn't it!

I agree to hold a media is just so great! You own a box with some art and beautiful disc. It just feels good to own something. Blu-ray won yes mostly because those behind Blu-ray had seemingly the most money to push it through. Both sides had a little war and HD-DVD just didn't have the resources. Microsoft definitely wasn't much of a supportive group for Toshiba and why should it. It's codecs we're in BOTH formats.It is just a case of politics!

music and movies are different, half of people like not having physical media for music, but as for movies people feel conferable touching seeing and smelling an actual disk... Untill that changes Blu-Ray will stride and it is more and more people are buying blu rays... you lose

Now that HD-DVD is dead Xbox fanboys are praying for physical media to die just because you want Blu-Ray to fail since it's built into the PS3. Physical media WILL NEVER die so get over it, Sony made the right move and Blu-Ray is the future.
