I read the paperbook when I was 10 years old in 1972. Ordered it through the book club at school! Can U believe that? Anyway, I saw the movie at the drive-in. At 10 years old, I wanted to be "SuperFly"...didn't know better. All I knew was that he had a baad ride & pimp rags that a lot of us wanted to wear in the day...never got into that. Thank God! Great Original Score!

yeah it knocked off THE GODFATHER as the number one movie when it was released after Godfather spent numerous weeks on number 1

Absolutely! Only reason I watch this as Much as the Godfather, is to hear that soundtrack, put to the streets! No soundtrack even comes close-not even Willie Hutch's 'The Mack'.
