New wave doensn't necessarily have electronics in it. Just take some of the earlier stuff of The Cure for instance.

Why do you have to categorize? I think the Smiths' sound is very distinct from New Wave -the lack of electronics for instance.

Some new wave groups aren't good but that still doesn't make me want to put them in a different category. There were alot of bands that out way the bad ones.. I can think of like 10 right off the bat.
