W, here is a greater question, what would Africa be if you and yours, or those that think like you I should say, never tried to bring God to the so-called godless! Colonization all but destroyed Africa and those that were there cleared the scene leaving behind their lapdog warlords that kept the masses in check for them. No Infrastructure! All the historic lies about Africa's past can be put to rest in this age of information so history's manipulation by totalitarian Caucasian moves me not! LOL

It is all in place for a reason and most of it finds it roots in the Reconstructive Era, the Electoral Scandal of 1876, and Jim Crow that begot the socio economic situations you describe here! SJ, no he wasn't. His mother was though which would make him about a quarter if one believes in the whole blood percentage BS. In this country The One Drop Rule has always applied. The racist see one group in totality. Minorities sit around pondering aimlessly about percentages of blackness as was done with Obama before he was elected and by Afro Americans almost exclusively! Well said and true SA. I don't recall the mention if his starting a new religion at any point. I do recall him asking Muslim Clerics in Saudi Arabia why they hadn't come to the US to reveal true Islam to the Black Masses though! ONE

he quit the nation of islam for orthodox islam towards the end of his life.he never started a new religion but he did start a new organization called muslim mosque inc after his pilgrimage.

His last name was "Little", but that doesn't really matter. You should read his autobiography. He died with the name El-hajj Malik El-Shabazz, He received this name after his trip to Mecca. It is also worth noting in 1964 a year before his death he left the religion of Muslim to start his own religion.
