My angelfish spawn regularly but i never caught it on film. It's a 500 lt aquarium with PH 6.8 temperature 25.8c GH 4. The tank contains 17 species of plants such as limnophilla aquatica, vallisneria gigantiqua (wich is used on film by the angelfish for spawning) Cryptocorine wenddti and tropica spec, also there's 2 kinds of echinodorus in the tank, lobelia cardinalis and more. There are 3 angelfisch in there and 100 paracheirodon axelrodi, 25 corydoras sterbay and some veteran albino's (6 years old) furthermore there are 7 epyplatys sexfasciatus for the upper layer and to keep things clean i have an not countable number of pearlshrimps in there. Thanks for watching and reading and i'll make sure to keep you updated with more aquariumvids. The tank is now 5 months old, i use a eheim 2260 filter with co2 for the plants regulated by an computer and i use Elos furtalizer for the plants.I'm getting lots of questions about the co2 system i use. The question is mostly about the costs of a good co2 system, here a rather basic reply if you are on a limited budget, sorry for my poor english.I would not use yeast to get co2, you wont be able to control it.I'm not on a low budget but do not want to spent a lot on my aquarium, so I always try to find ways to make things cheaper.I've used a bottle from an fire exstinguisher (co2 exstinguisher) and hooked up a jbl regulator valve to it, the valve combined with a solenoid or in other words magnetic valve to close it at night should not cost more than 80 dollars, you can also ebay them for less. The bottle itself will cost anything between 10 to 50 dollars. The best way to mix the co2 with water is if you have a external filter (eheim for example) and hook up a reactor to it, you can buy these or make them yourself if your handy. http://www.aquadirect.com/stor... such a reactor. The filtered water gets mixed with the co2 and back into the aquarium. Always hook a reactor up after your filter since the water comming through your filter needs as much oxigen as possible for your bacteria. The solenoid is used since your plants will need co2 during daylight, thats basic photosyntheses, but in the night they need oxigen instead of co2, so if you do not have the money for a computer to regulate the level of co2 in your aquarium use the solenoid to shut it of a couple of hours before the lights go out. I hope you find this information usefull.Cheers Alex.

angels dont kill neons so long as the neons were introduced first.

Probably but not signifiantly, who volunteers to count them (in exces of 100)?By the way it is the paracheirodon Axelrodi, not innessi, they grow over the food sice for angelfish, although fully grown angelfish will be able to eat them.In the beginning the angelfish where tiny and the neons where already populating the tank, the angelfish therefore do not see them as food.In nature the neons huddle together in thousands, the predator doesn't seethe individual neon, just one big one.

Have your angels killed any of your neons yet?

Thanks alexvideoland, I will keep that in mind.

Hi Matoy,Though many will say you cannot seperate the eggs/young without affecting matternal instincts, professional breeders do seperate them to maximize survivalrate.I believe it will not affect the instinct, however it is beautifull to look at the adult angelfish taking care of their yong.

can you icolate the angels eggs to improve survival chances? or do you have to leave them for the parents to look after? Please E-mail me to this account, thanks. Good video by the way.
