the music video is not completely irrelevant, the song is about the irrational need for competition and how it leads to the downfall of a culture. claypool gives several examples: the need to be accepted by our peers lead to the mortgage crisis(brand new Cadillac)and the communist space race bankrupted the soviet union. In the video the insects are constantly competing in vain. the grandmother is nearly killed by trying to clean so much. the cooking is a competition common amongst grandmothers
