I dare say that dari, pashtun, farsi and gulf arabic would be handy for the Green Beret crew these days. You learning any LOTE carcass? In the regard of training guerilla militias and encouraging insurrection, would you know if that is still a SASR activity? I'm pretty sure it used to be.

Rangers are far above ADF infantry... very far above, aswell as having to pass RIP. USMC aswell as rangers, 101st airborne 72nd, 82nd airborne, the US military works on the tactic of using the US army, average training, good equipment to secure areas while the elite units (USMC, Rangers, etc) come in to crush enemies. The USMC only has 180,000 personell, and they only accept the best recruits. Why dod you think the USMC is so small? Also, they have higher marksmanship standards than the ADF

Rangers are trained in airborne, SCUBA, HALO, fast helo deployment, aswell as a multitude of near SF tactics, and are around the level of 4RAR and the ADF Commandos. Although the rangers have higher fitness requirements again.

Smallfrzie, I have no idea where you get your info from but so much of it is wrong, the ADF minimum requirements 7.5 on beep test plus medical and eye exam + 20 pushups 50 sit ups.USMC 3 mile run in 18 minutes - 12 minutes to get PFC. Must pass rigourous testing being 40 pushups in alotted time, 120 sit ups, and 20 chin ups. They receive the same level of training as the ADF infantry, although receive more in CQC, CQB and counter sniping.

I cant tell you know, the SASR fitness requirements arnt that hard if your in good shape, if you can run 3 miles every day, and have good upper body strength and muscular endurance. That is the info ive been given from family who've served with both 4RAR and the SASR. British and USSF are far more rigorous on the physical side of things. Especially as the fitness levels of our soldiers have dropped drastically in teh ADF over the last 20 years.

You dont know the purpose of the Green Berets, btw, they have a tougher fitness selection course than the SASR, they train for 2 years just to pass selection, must know 3 languages, one being english and they rarely take people without skills, mechanics, electritions or qaulified weapons techs. They are an insurrection force used to create mayhem amongst their enemies, spreading propaganda aswell as sabotage and forming small militias amongst the locals to fight their enemies.

Mate, you have no idea what SFOD-D requirements are, you havent been stationed at Ft Bragg, period.

well thats wat i mean. they possess the same mental qualificiations. multiple psychological tests r conducted. and considering ive never spoken to a 1st sofd operator i may be incorrect, but im going by litterature

Their selection process is more intense on the physical side of things, but less focused on the mental aspect. My information on the target used by the SASR comes directly from an ex-SASR sniper, so I'm pretty sure it's accurate.

well yes NZSAS has lower standards in some aspects but their selection process is quite intense. as for the target id have to get more clarification. |
