as long as iraq is profitable and the big-money interests are satisfied, obama will be happy with a glorious career as a symbolic president, representing oppressed blacks by oppressing others.

i fear we are witnessing the death of iraq, but robotic criminals like obama can only call the war a "mistake" that costs too much money. he shows no support for any real way for the US to fix the situation it has created in iraq, but will stick around to permanently occupy iraqs oil sites and suck it dry. he criticizes iraqis for not spending oil money and making the "US burden" less. he seems to think the US owes nothing to iraq!

by empowering and paying of sects to fight other sects, the US is solidifying and increasing sectariansim. this "surge" nonsense has nothing to do with the success of US troops, it is just a fragile calm made artificially by US paying off sects to fight other sects; which will only lead to more backlash and sectarianism. the surge strategy itself is based around solidifying the sect/tribal organization in iraq, keeping everyone separate.

people say that these are "US blunders", but who in the world actually believes that the US cared anything about iraqis when this war started? leading up to the war, the US diplomatically forced years of murderous sanctions killing iraqi children (against the better judgment of the UN). it seems more like a strategy to keep possible opposition to US occupation fighting each other, rather than a united effort at ending occupation, like in vietnam.

there was very little sectarianism in iraq before the US invasion, the US invasion and occupation caused the sectarianism. they started by labeling sunnis "baathists" and locking them out, even though many many shia were in the bath party and worked side by side with sunnis.

Hamshow stupid comment, is clear that iraqis mind if us stay for a few years. That`s why we can see suicide attacks every day. Mc Cain is narrow minded. You say that, becouse is not your land that has been invaded, occupied by "alien" forces that say "we come to bring freedom"...What kind of freedom? Killing children, old people?US is fighting for oil, may God punishes US and the middle east will be the west alies grave.

the mission was flawed from the start. When the US troops pull out of Iraq, there will be a civil war in Iraq, it is inevitable!
hamshow (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Yes, the Iraqis really don't mind if we stay 100 years just like McCain said...

Edifis, your response was brilliant.

In that case, I guess lying to invade and occupy a country that was no threat to you must be symptom of White Christian culture.
