Thats the thing, nobody knows what an emo is. I always thought it was short for emotional. Then people tell me I'm emo, then people tell me that screamo was emo, then people tell me that blink 182 are emo. sucks dude. Maybe you should try showing them some of the softer songs. Then slowly start showing them some stronger songs. I recommend funny songs to start with.(dads work better) I did that to my dad and now he likes mcr, tdg and simple plan. Evanescence is a pretty good band to start off with as well. Good luck!
