Yep, it's a game mode you unblock after beating the normal one. You play with both Richter and Maria Renard the way she looks in Rondo of Blood.

Johnathan is part of the Belmont extended family, though. He even can use Vampire Killer and such.He's not a Magic Swordsman like Alucard or Soma, either.

No but keeping to the same story line keeps the Orginal/loyal Fans. there not doing the same Belmont thats why you saw Richter, Leon, Trevor, ect. that what made it fun and keeping to what happends next in the story line not adding some char that wasn't really even apprioate blah its been proven changing the storyline completely ruins Loyal fan base, Metriod series Resident Evil there is a couple more but i don't feel like typing alot, oh wait.... i already did x.x
