In recovery we call this "contempt prior to investigation." Thousands of addicts don't get help precisely because they don't want to be judged by people like you. If you know nothing about addiction, you shouldn't criticize. Really.

I saw this last year at the Asheville Film Fest when it was still a work in progress and it has haunted me since. I keep telling people that it is the best post-apocalypse movie ever.

caffine3905: Addicts do things that those of us who are clean could never imagine... don't forget that. Read about the filmmakers, see their part in all of this. Just because it is not shown does not mean that they did nothing. To gopconservative94: it's fantastic that you want to rile people up. Next time you actually go to NOLA, get the full picture...

I watched this movie on Doc channel and have been sick to my stomach ever since. How can a mother smoke crack, have a pre-mature birth, leave her sick child in the hospital, and be smoking crack with her abusive boyfriend momments after leaving the hospital. People like this are so sick with addiction shouldn't the hospital or the film makers have gotten her help? Sorry for the rant, but I can't get it off my mind. Thanks
