No I said they were bred for. They have been bred for captivity, like lap dog. The first recorded case of myotonia congenita in goats was recorded in the early 1800's sold by one farmer, Jon Tinsley. Of course he took what is a naturally occurring genetic disorder in a small minority of goats and then selectively bred for it. As a genetic disorder it could have occurred in his domestic stock. Selective breading speeds the process beyond what would usually occur in the wild.

No it hasn't. Spontaneous mutation doesn't happen that quickly especially when healthy goats have already been bred for generations by humans. The trait would have had to begin in the wild.

This trait has been breed for by humans for 2 reasons. 1) Novelty and 2) some farmers use them as bait to protect other animals as predators will attack the prone goats while the rest of the heard of sheep, cows, llamas, whatever, run away.
