Prop 2 is FLAWED! If prop2 was about animal welfare it would apply to all eggs SOLD in CA--not just produced in CA.VOTE NO on prop 2! Our legislature can do better. Prop2 requires 5 ft per chicken (enough room for each chicken to extend wings without touching another bird) x 19.9 million chickens.Prop 2 drives existing cage free operations out of state.Animal welfare balances space against protection from elements, temperature controlled environments, access to feed, and protection to predators.

Thank you for posting this video! Most people don't know where their food comes from. If Californians pass Prop 2 next month, these horrific egg factories will be phased out in a few years. Humane treatment of farm animals also means healthier food on your table. Several states and the entire European Community currently have similar laws. Five Stars!

Beef farms often smell like chicken manure. WHY? Because they mix Chicken Shit with Corn and "Silage". I stopped eating store bought beef when I cooked hamburger one day, & my house smelled like a barnyard! The dogs got the beef mixed with their kibble, I vowed to find alternate sources of meat, from organic, humane small farms. Got some hens for fresh eggs, etc. It can be done, but one has to make choices. I pay a bit more, but I use LESS, & it's more satisfying/nutritious!

Small farms once produced enough food for our whole nation! It's when Big AGRICORPORATIONS took over, that all the cruelty started; We got into exporting, PROFIT-DRIVEN COMMERCIAL production. The change will come when people realize WHAT they are eating. I live in a rural area. I pass these huge AGRI-BUSINESSES! I wouldn't want to eat what they produce! I see the Monsanto "Round-up Ready" Corn for sale - Don't buy it. Anything which is classified a Pesticide/Herbicide, is NOT food!

I am not vegetarian; I eat meat, eggs (from my own free-range hens), drink milk (raw, from a friend's small farm/4 cows), and try to buy cruelty free. WE EAT TOO MUCH MEAT/PROTEIN in the USA. Because our food is OVER-PROCESSED, we get less nutrients. My hens are STILL laying, and they're 5 years old! Treat them kindly, they'll continue to produce! When PROFIT becomes "the bottom line", that's when the CRUELTY enters the picture!IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY! It's GREED!

"Of all the creatures, man is the most detestable. Of the entire brood, he is the only one that possesses malice. He is the only creature that inflicts pain for sport, knowing it to be pain. The fact that man knows right from wrong proves his intellectual superiority to the other creatures; but the fact that he can do wrong proves his moral inferiority to any creature that cannot." ~ Mark Twain ~

Californians be sure and vote YES on Prop 2 this November. Horrible to think there is so much suffering behind getting a dozen eggs.
