Im not totally sure if this is correct but i heard that dime and vinnie paul changed pantera's name after rex and phil went off on their own solo careers. They wanted to keep the mentality that the band was still pantera in spirit. Its just something i heard. Anyone else know if that has any truth or not?

yea dime and vinnie did write alot of the pantera material although Pat Lachman didnt really like singing the pantera songs dime and vinnie didnt want to just forget about the godlike songs they made in pantera and i sure dont blame them they knew what was metel..... R.I.P Dime

The reason they played so many Pantera songs live is because Dime fuckin' wrote so much of it. Why shouldn't he play his own shit? You don't think that douchebag junkie Anselmo taught Dime how to play Pantera's guitar parts, do ya? Dime fuckin' wrote em!
