It's a common practice to breed black Aberdeen-Angus bulls to Hereford cows. The offspring have the white face of the Hereford and the black coat of the Angus. It's called a black baldy cow.In my local market black cattle are aways priced higher than the other colors, but most farmers want hardier cattle than purebreds. So they cross the gentle Hereford cows, which are known to be good mothers, with the black Aberdeen Angus.
