The bag was probably full of drugs or money and he didn't want to let his hand off of it for fear of some 15 year old kid possibly swiping it and running off. You should of just asked nicely if he could snip off one of the curls out of his fro and let you have it as a souvenir since he had so may of them and it'd grow back anyways. He'd probably think you were one of the coolest, craziest fans ever and he'd remember you forever or he'd just tell you to fuck off and you'd think he was an asshole.

I'm over it. :) I was about 15 years old.Anyway, after a concert in Virginia, I happened to be staying at the same hotel as BOC. In the lobby he was waiting for the elevator. I told him I was a big fan, and asked to shake his hand.Well, he had a bag resting on the floor with the strap loose in his hand. When I stuck out my hand to shake his, he looked down at his hand with the strap in it, shrugged, and just glared at me. No handshake for me.Kinda dickish.
