Actually Zara Phillips has no title of Princess. Her parents Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips decided not to have thier 2 children be given titles so that they could grow up as more ordinary people. But Zara and her brother Peter are still 11th & 12th in line of succession to the Throne of England.

yah, you hardly ever hear of Ellen Whitaker or Pippa Funnel, shes like the main person and i just didn't really get why except for the fact shes a 'princess'

Even if she weren't the Queen's grand daughter I think we'd be hearing about her. She is a very good rider and has worked hard to get to her level. She comes across as a genuine person and to top it all off she has a cool fashion sense and is really pretty.So the notice isn't just because of her family, although i'm sure it helps! ;)

I think the point hersheyluva was trying to make is that there are a lot more fatalities in eventing than in other equestrian sports. Theres danger whenever you're in the saddle no matter what discipline you do but you can't argue with the statistics folks (:
