Ha- love old cycling pics and videos. what a beautiful history! This vid was actually used to demonstrate using biking for positive social change. Check it out at Youth Noise Play City.

Changing the subject slightly, the girl at 3:16 is absolutely spiffing. Ding dong!!!

Scottishdan, I think it's quite unfair of you to lay the blame for this demonstrably inexcusable error at the foot of the cycling folk, they are merely the subjects of the film. Surely responsibility must rest with the film maker, in this case, British Transport Films.

And what's more, the error is repeated in the actual video - right at the beginning. There is no questioning the enthusiasm of these middle England, pipe-smoking, beer-quaffing, archaeology-discussing gentle cycling folk, but all credibility is lost by this most embarrassing grammatical faux pas. I'm ashamed to be British.
jacknthur (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Quite right, Scottishdan. I've taken thirty lashes and corrected the error.

I thought 50's Britain could punctuate; I would say that in the title, "Cyclists" should have an apostrophe after the S as it is a plural possessive. I'm black affronted. What what, jolly hockey sticks etc etc
