toj, deercreek is correct. Jesus Christ established a Church by which His voice in the world would be heard. Jesus found only one church & it's still today Jesus told His apostles "He who hears you hears ME, he who rejects you rejects ME" also, Jesus says to them, "As the Father sent me, so I now send you"Jesus appointed them meaning that He ordained them (Mk 3:14) and Jesus gave them His authority. They were the 1st bishops of The Church. "Bishop" is in the books of Titus, 1Tim, & 1Pt.

-all that "they" tell them. Why is this? Paul even mentions in Rom 13:1-2 that the powers that be are "ordained of God". Titus mentions the office of bishop as does 1Tim. What's the relevance of this? Is it important? It's in the bible, so? Is it? What's a bishop? These are the same as the "elders" of Acts. The same "elders" whom the apostles "ordain" in Acts. Why? What's Acts13:1? Did u know that an "elder" (bishop) named Ignatius of Antioch named The Church of the bible "Katolikos" 110AD?

these are indeed verses that pertain to salvation, tojam. Yet, the n. test is rife with Peter & Paul stating in the epistles that they are ordained ministers in the Church, and they have authority given to them by Jesus. Jesus even states that He's "ordained"(appointed) them Mk3:14; Jn15:16. In John's gospel, Jesus states that he's going to send the Spirit to guide them in all truths 14:26: they have NO nt yet, only authority given to them by Jesus. Paul says to them "be obedient" to(contd)

How can you, Mr Beacon, claim you have interpreted the Bible with 100 percent accuracy? There is NO PROOF! Your vast assumption is no better than a lie. You are a pride-filled liar! You are a promoter of lies and superstition. Your message is a poison to all mankind. Here's my interpretation: The Catholic Church is the mother of all whores!

Here are some verses from the Bible pertaining to salvation; John 3:16-17, Romans 10:9-10, John 3:3, John 11:25-26, John 14:6, John 1:12, Acts 16:30-31, 1 John 5:12.

I think I understand your viewpoint. I am simply a sinner who was saved from eternal damnation through Jesus' free gift. I say "free" because Jesus paid the price for our sin and no more work needs to be done for salvation. How could any person ever enter into the Hingdom of Heaven undefiled without the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ shedding his blood on the cross? That's all I'm saying. I view Heaven as living with Jesus for eternity in a literal Heaven.

I know what you're trying to say, and Im glad you're a Christian. I'm very much a Christian: I belong to the Church Jesus Christ began 2000 years ago. What's your def'n of "going to heaven"? I certainly plan on being there, but no where in the bible does it say anything about the moment you die you're on a free ride and "winging it straight into it" just because you're Christian.. It does say that "'nothing tainted' will enter." Nothing defiled may enter RIGHT AWAY.1Cor3:10-15; Rev21:27

correction.. I mean to write tojam, not fallschirm. BUT I was commenting on what fallschirm wrote. Fundamentalists misquote and misquote the bible all day. They choose a few verses and make them their hallmarks and they ignore the rest of the NT !! They ignore things like doctrine, tradition which Paul speaks about . Fundies have NO clue what this means. |
