Impulse was still standing and able to fly back home under its own power. A bloodied boxer, obviously took some hits, but when the other boxer is KOed, it's a decisive victory, I'm not claiming it was a "flawless victory".Based on what? Even in the SF, Kira still failed to take down Destiny the few times they battled. Kira never demonstrates that he is the superior pilot. Athrun is better than Kira anyways, perhaps Shinn wouldn't have lost, had it been Kira he'd been matched up with.

Kira's easily manipulated by the EA in Seed, after that, by Lacus.Kira was a much more creative pilot in Seed (near the end of his days piloting Strike)then he was any point after. Maybe, there is some truth to that in that regard. However, Kira is not the distinctly better pilot when Shinn starts fighting Kira. Not to mention, between Shinn and Kira's duels, only Shinn has walked away with a decisive victory.

shinn is to easily manipulated by others and if KIRA were to fight like he did in the early eps. of gundam seed with the FREEDOM then he could've easliy beat SHINN.
